Semaglutide Reconstitution Calculator

Enter the semaglutide vial mass, bacteriostatic water volume, and the target amount you want to measure — results update instantly. For research purposes only; this is reconstitution measurement math, not a dose recommendation.

Insulin units (U-100)

U-100 insulin syringe: 1 unit = 0.01 mL. Concentration = mass ÷ water. Volume = target ÷ concentration.

What "reconstitution" means for semaglutide

Research semaglutide ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Reconstitution is dissolving it in bacteriostatic water so its concentration can be measured precisely. The vial mass and the water volume you add are the only two numbers that set the concentration.

The universal formula

Concentration (mg/mL) = vial mass (mg) ÷ water volume (mL).

Measured volume (mL) = target amount ÷ concentration. (×100 for insulin-syringe units.)

Important compliance note

Research-grade semaglutide referenced here is a research compound, distinct from the FDA-approved drug semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic®/Wegovy®). The research compound form is not FDA-approved. This page covers measurement math only and does not recommend any human dose.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reconstitute research semaglutide?

Divide the vial mass (mg) by the bacteriostatic water volume (mL) to get the concentration in mg/mL, then divide your target amount by that concentration to get the volume to draw. The calculator above does it instantly. For research purposes only.

How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg semaglutide vial?

The water volume is your choice — it sets the concentration. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL; 10 mg in 1 mL gives 10 mg/mL. More water means a lower concentration and a larger draw volume for the same target amount.

How do I convert a semaglutide draw volume to insulin units?

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 unit equals 0.01 mL, so units = draw volume in mL × 100. A 0.05 mL draw is 5 units.

Is research semaglutide the same as Ozempic or Wegovy?

No. Research-grade semaglutide is a research compound distinct from the FDA-approved drug semaglutide (the active in Ozempic® and Wegovy®) and is not FDA-approved. See also the general peptide reconstitution calculator and the tirzepatide reconstitution calculator. For research purposes only.
